Early Head Start Services

The Early Head Start (EHS) program is for low-income infants, toddlers, pregnant women and their families. EHS programs enhance children's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development; assist pregnant women to access comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care; support parents' efforts to fulfill their parental roles; and help parents move toward self-sufficiency.

Early Head Start at Tri-County Head Start is offered in Berrien County only. This EHS grant allows for 72 enrollment slots. The current program options include:

Center Based option at the Berrien RESA Alternative High School Early Childhood Education Center in Benton Harbor (Even Start). Parents must be enrolled in the Alternative High School in order for children to attend this option.

Center Based option at the Coloma YWCA

Home visits through Berrien RESA Parents As Teachers

Home visits to families in foster care through Tri-County Head Start

Home visits to pregnant women through Capstone Family Support Center in Benton Harbor
